ACT! & ACT! Premium by Sage
ACT! 2010 Service Pack 1 Released
If you're using ACT! 2010 Standard or Premium, you should download and install Service Pack 1. It includes Product & Feature Improvements along with Fixed Issues. Here's the release statement from Sage: "The ACT! 2010 SP1 release is focused on improving the quality of the ACT! 2010 release and a number of usability enhancements related to navigating the application and using key features. This list is provided to improve your installation and overall use experience of ACT! 2010 SP1."
Remember that ALL computers sharing a common shared database must apply the update. You can download and apply this Service Pack while in ACT! by choosing Help, ACT! Update.

ACT! 2010 & Office 2010
If you're thinking of upgrading to Office 2010, please keep in mind that ACT! 2010 (and all older versions) are not supported on Office 2010. ACT! 2010 may work with Outlook and Word and Excel, but it may not work, and Sage will not assist you. Please give us a call if you're considering upgrading - we can review the potential issues with you, saving you time and energy later.
ACT! 2010 System Requirements
Sage says that ACT! requires a minimum of 512MBytes of memory. That's like saying your car requires a minimum of a tablespoon of gas - yes, that's technically true, but you certainly won't get very far.

If you upgrade to ACT! 2010 and find things missing, you have two options - a) live with it or 2) revert back to your earlier version, but remember that if you do, your new ACT! 2010 database cannot be saved back to your earlier version, so you'll lose any data that you entered in the new version. ACT! 2010 Released!

ACT! 2010 has been released by Sage and is now shipping. This new version represents the most significant improvement in the User Experience since version 2! Major improvements have been made in the area of opportunities and report selection. A new Web info Tab has been added with links to LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and more. And eMarketing has been built-in for email blasts, automated follow-up and drip marketing.
I have downloaded and installed the new release onto my system and am familiarizing myself with the new functionality. Customers on Platinum Care will receive this new version automatically.
